Rope my Goat

So the picture above is my newest addition, a goat named Cisco gotten from a friend at work. He is like a big dog. I swear I have never seen a goat look so sad. He just sits in my backyard and cries. When I come out he runs to my side. To think that a goat can be so tame and human friendly. Princess has become his friend and hangs out with him but Rootbeer stays far away from me, he knows I am trying to catch him to take his collar off, its getting too tight. I am having my farrier out to rope him. I asked him to "rope my goat" and my co-workers can't stop laughing about that. The picture above is him trying to come inside.

So I can feel my cold coming back for a repeat vist. I just had my flu shot yesterday. So today on top of getting 10 hours sleep last night I am taking lots of vitamins and trying to stop it. Two weeks ago I had it for about 10 days. What a pain. So today I am going to early vote then to the feed store, the dog food store. I am going to put the dogs back on Canidae. Its expensive, but their health is worth it they don't like the Kirkland brand that everyone raves about. Then I am going to go pick up some Hay. I have 100 bales stacked in my barn, but I want to fill it so I won't have to worry about it until 1st cut next year. Its good exercise unloading they hay, and heck maybe I will meet some new people. Last night I went to Isleta Casino for a couple hours. It was fun and I was down, won back my money with my fav dollar slots, then hightailed out of there. Today I will use that cash for my hay and grain.

Oh and later I will ride, probably Beauty and Sand, then tonight will relax with my fav night of TV for some Survivor, CSI, Office and the new show I like, Eleventh Hour. Then off to bed for another 2 days of 12 hours of work.

I've been buying Canidae when I can. The feed store says that because of fuel costs they stock whatever happens to come in on a shipment. I see in your profile that you have a Pug? My neighbor's Pug got loose one day and I caught it and brought it inside until the owner showed up. Of course, I immediately wanted a Pug after just spending a few minutes with that little guy.

OMG I left a long reply but it said Blogger was down & the back button didn't store my comments (UGH)! Anywho - LOVE the new goat, and totally sympathize about the cost of good dog food for too many hungry puppies. We've had ours on Kirkland too. I'd love to switch them back to Blue Buffalo but it's just too expensive right now.

As for moving and all, we're leaving during the first week of December so there is plenty of time to get settled before I go back to work on Jan 7th. We're waiting a month or two to put it up for sale since no one buys houses around Christmas anyway. We have a good realtor so we'll see how it goes. Wish us lots of luck!! (Does your mom want to buy another property? LOL)

I love my pug, he has so much personality, different then any other dog I have had. My Canidae contact only orders now special order, doesn't carry it in the store so I guess I will keep feeding Kirkland Lamb and rice.. It gets good reviews and better in my budget.. The dogs are going to just have to get used to it!

Wow S and I can't believe you are going to move before your house sells- Is that a smart move do you think? I guess you could rent it out also? When I am in Seattle the end of December I can check up on it for you :)

What kind of goat is Cisco? All our goats are super friendly. We have 5 goats now and 2 sheep. As well as our two llamas and the one horse. Quite a menagerie, eh?
How many goats do you have?

I hope you feel better. I swear by Zicam. It's a homeopathic remedy, OTC and not expensive. It works fast, making a cold go away quickly while making the symptoms less, too.

Enjoy your rides this weekend.
Ps, How is Sand doing?

Ya, moving early makes me nervous, but there are so many advantages like doing it while I'm off on maternity leave still, having time to get settled before I move back, etc. Also, due to the house's layout, it will show better when empty--not to mention being free of the dogs. Fortunately, we'll be staying with Jeff's sis until we sell the Seattle house then find and buy one there.

And- I backup Lisa on the Zicam! Janette used it for all 3 kids, and it worked well.

Oh- I'll totally be taking you up on the offer to check up on the house in Dec! I'll have Jeff interoffice a key to you lol :)

Hey S- I will for sure check on your house in December, I am sure it will sell and you can maybe do what I did and "stage" the house so it will attract more buyers. Remember when I did that and my condo sold in like 1 day? I am excited you are moving closer, only a road trip away :)

Hi Lisa! I don't know what kind of goat Cisco is, I will take pictures later today- He is big and really friendly- And I got the Zicam, the swabs and cold is gone- Thanks so much! ;)

Sand is doing great, I just got done with their monthly psyillum treatment- I will monitor their feedings more now, and not overfeed ! :)
