So yesterday I went to get on my computer and it wouldn't pick up a signal, or the monitor wouldn't turn on. The computer is running, but no video. I am hoping its just the video card but this is a computer that I have had for 10 years, one that I built myself. I can build the computers, but if something goes wrong I can't fix it.. Its a old computer though and I knew this day would come.
I have been using Outlook express for my email, so now if it isn't he video card I will loose all my saved emails.. Now I am using webmail, screw Outlook Express- And all my favorites for my browser, and all my I-Tunes.. I just bought new songs last weekend and didn't fricken back them up and Apple won't redownload them.. Anyway I am a little sad like a part of me has been lost.
I will order a cheap new video card and see if I can recover anything.. If not life moves on and I have learned from my mistakes.. I have a newer computer I only used for WOW so I guess this is my main computer now, and my slow laptop..
Moral of this story- Back up ! ~!~ ~!~

That's no bueno! :( Do you have another monitor you can hook up to it to see if that might be part of the problem?
Ya I changed out the video card and No Bueno as you say- The hard drive is probably cooked, I am gonna just part out the computer and go solo with one.. But I found a awesome program called Ipod to computer transfer that for $19.99 transferred all my songs of my IPod back into my computer- Woo Hoo~ Back in business! Now I just have to remember to back everything up of importance..
That totally stinks :( You know, I think Jeff knows of some freeware that could have moved your stuff over. I'm just glad you salvaged it tho! Poor ol' trusty. You should check out the external hard drives on amazon. Thats where we got our terabyte drive.
Ya and now guess what my laptop is dying! It won't turn off, I have to take the battery out and it freezes up.. So I guess I am down to 1 computer!
